On to other news:
- As much as I loved JJ Putz, he took it to a whole new level with this quote: "I heard the Royals wanted Jones for (reliever Octavio) Dotel," closer J.J. Putz said before Tuesday's game. "When you hear something like that, it's just ridiculous." Amen
- Uber Prospect SS Carlos Triunfel went 6/6 the other night. hes now batting at a .340/.366/.402 clip.
- Mariners only deadline deal: Julio Mateo to Philly for 26 yr old AA SS Jesus Merchan. Now Philly has not one but TWO wife beaters in their pen (Myers). Merchan is a hispanic Willie Bloomquist, although only 17 k's in 270 + ab is nice, especially with 23 walks. He walks more then he K's, which is taboo for any mariners hitter it seems.
- Saw not 1 but TWO Mariners wins in person this week. It was nice... Very nice...
- I've put off any Mariners updates until they finally wisen up and insert Adam Jones into the outfield and Ben Broussard anywhere (hopefully 1B). So until then...
